QUEENSBORO FC II FALLS TO BEAMAN UNITED FC IN UPSL NATIONAL SEMIFINALS

UP 3-0 AT HALFTIME QUEENSBORO FALLS 4-3 IN OT

This Sunday, the UPSL National Final kicks off at the Historic Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Two of the best pro-development teams in the county face-off to determine who is crowned UPSL National champion.

Friday’s semifinal matches saw an incredible 10 goals scored in the two games. Beaman United FC (Nashville, TN) began the day down 3-0 to Queensboro FC II (New York, NY) at halftime in the first game. They were then able to score 3 in the second half, ultimately winning 4-3 in extra time.

Queensboro FC II attacking midfielder Minguk Seo was pulling all the strings in the first half with an assist and a goal before Beaman United FC captain and former NYCFC (MLS) man Kwadwo Poku was able to provide the spark his team needed to get back into the game with key passes and tackles in the middle of the park.

In Friday’s second semifinal match, Orange County FC (Irvine, CA) went up 1-0 early against Dodge City Toros (Dodge City, KS), before Dodge City levelled shortly after with a well-placed finish. Despite going down to 10 men after a red card, US Soccer Hall of Famer Paul Caligiuri and his Orange County team then took the lead after a well-struck shot from outside the box from midfielder Miguel Moreno Rodriguez. Orange County went on to win the game 2-1.

The final matchday of the UPSL National Finals will see the National Championship game at 3pm between Orange County FC and Beaman United FC. The third-place match between Queensboro FC II and Dodge City Toros kicks off at 12pm. Watch for free, live on the official UPSL YouTube with commentary.
