HOFSTRA MEN’S & WOMEN’S SOCCER HONORED WITH UNITED SOCCER COACHES TEAM AWARDS

2020-21 College Team Academic Award Recipients

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A total of 606 soccer teams (223 men, 383 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year.

Of that total, 91 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized. The Hofstra men’s and women’s soccer teams were recognized by the United Soccer Coaches for their hard work in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year, announced in a release by the organization Thursday.
 
United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
 
The men’s team led by Richard Nuttall accumulated a 3.68 GPA for the academic year while the women’s program earned a 3.64 GPA. It is the 10th time that the men have been honored with this award and the 11th time for the women.
 
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the 2020-21 academic year. A total of 602 soccer teams (220 men, 382 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year. Of that total, 90 schools had both their men’s and women’s programs recognized.
